The Alcock Brown-Neaves (ABN) Group, Australia’s leading construction, property and finance company, today announced the sale of modular and transportable building company TR Homes to Murray River North (MRN).

Dale Alcock, managing director of the ABN Group, said the move represented an opportunity for TR Homes to grow as a regional housing brand.

“MRN is the right fit for TR Homes to continue to service rural WA and also to grow into a national housing brand servicing remote areas,” Mr Alcock said.

“Cultural synergies between the two companies have made the sale of TR Homes to MRN very easy. The ABN Group would not have been prepared to sell TR Homes in any other case,” he said.

Joining the ABN Group in 2006, TR Homes has provided unique housing solutions to regional West Australians for more than 40 years.

MRN is well known in northern WA, NT and SA as a provider of modular residential and commercial buildings, including health facilities, police stations and schools.

Mr Alcock said MRN had acquired TR Homes after extensive discussions between both parties.

“The ABN Group will continue to work closely with MRN general manager Roger Piggott to ensure continuity with a simple and easy transition, Mr Alcock said.

Mr Piggott said TR Homes would fill a gap in MRN’s offering of residential housing in remote and rural areas in WA.

“We are very excited about this opportunity. We see residential growth opportunities into regional Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland which MRN is best positioned to now leverage,” he said.

Mr Piggott said the TR Homes operation would not change from its current Maddington site in Western Australia. MRN operates out of the Northern Territory, with sites in Darwin and Alice Springs, and Pinjarra in WA.

“MRN has delivered construction solutions throughout remote Australia for more than 25 years. In that time MRN has serviced some of the most remote locations in WA, South Australia and the Northern Territory and with the location of our facilities now have the ability to provide affordable housing to regional areas and towns,” he said.
